Cooking through our Favourite Cookbooks

Things are trucking right along here with the cook the book blogs. In the past month or so, two new blogs have joined the roster: Chris and Mel are cooking through the Rebar: Modern Food cookbook, and Megan’s taking us through Vegetarian Food for Friends.
It’s not lost on me that the blogs are currently very veggie-heavy. It’s a great thing, since we’re well into the season of fresh produce and it’s generally a good idea for all of us to eat a bit less meat and a bit more veggies and grains.
That said, as an unrepentant omnivore I’d love a meatier addition to the roster here. If you or anyone you know is interested in adding themselves to the roster of cook the book blogs with a more meat-centric book, drop me a line! jen at cookthebook dot ca.

Ok, this thing is really rolling now – our first two blogs are up and running with their first few posts!
The Menus from an Orchard Table blog is being written by yours truly (Jen Watkiss), while the Super Natural Cooking blog is headed up by Jen Closs.

Welcome to Cook the Book.ca – a collection of blogs by hobby chefs dedicated to cooking our way through some of our favourite cookbooks.
Most of the action will be on the sub-blogs, where you’ll see chronicles of recipes we’ve tried and adventures we’ve had as we work our way through the individual cookbooks. This main site will be where we publish announcements about new blogs and general site updates. If you like what we do, it’s a good page to add to your RSS reader.
And now, it’s time to cook. Here we go!
