Chris is a technology professional who has only recently discovered the importance of good food. Formerly an ultra-picky junk-food eater, he has successfully transformed himself into a slightly-picky near-vegetarian. While he still has plenty to learn when it comes to culinary techniques, he’s quickly picking up new skills and ideas as he acts as a sous-chef in the family kitchen. When he’s not working or cooking, Chris occasionally writes restaurant reviews and musings on life on his personal blog, GeekPhilosophy.
Having missed home economics class in high school, Mel didn’t learn to cook until relatively recently, but when she did she dove right in. Self-taught and committed to lifelong learning, Mel nurtures her creative side in the kitchen and enjoys putting together healthy, inexpensive meals with ingredients she has on hand. She also loves to plan delicious, gourmet meals and menus for family & friends, and to take mouth-watering photos of her endeavors.
Chris and Mel love to cook together and live happily in Vancouver with their cat. Their current Cook the Book project is the Rebar Modern Food blog.
