Cooking through our Favourite Cookbooks

Megan C

Often guilty of sifting through piles of cookbooks in bed late at night, dreaming up new menus to entice her friends and family over for food, Megan loves everything about food. Preparing an interesting meal – anything from elegant dinner party fare to aromatic comfort food – never ceases to be a favourite activity. Megan is a part-time student and full-time writer/editor for non-profits in Vancouver, and cooking provides a fantastic means of procrastination. Cooking runs in the family, as Megan’s dad is a cookbook author himself (sadly, because it is not a vegetarian cookbook, she was unable to choose it for this blog). Although she sticks mainly to eating vegetarian with some chicken and fish thrown in, Megan has been known to sneak bites of prosciutto and gourmet salamis at parties.

Crafting a delicious meal at the end of a work-day can be challenging. Megan is often supported and entertained while she cooks by her husband and sous-chef, Dave, who furiously dices, chops and grates, giving her the freedom to be creative and consider the overall meal.
